Serving Our Community and World

For many, many years, Bethel has been active in meeting the needs of the communities near and far. We minister locally through various, ongoing mission projects locally and around the world.

Above Division Jail Mission

Above Division Jail Mission provides connection and longer term relationships with the incarcerated held at the local jails. Regular weekly worship services currently held along with private visitations. Longer term vision is to build relationships between the church inside the jail with the church outside the jail and assist in inmate reentry. Read more about Above Division Jail Mission.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Bethel reaches those who are struggling with addiction to alcohol and seeks to provide a place for our community to find a safe place for healing for themselves and their families. Read more about Alcoholics Anonymous.

Adults on Mission

All women and men are invited to join the monthly meet on the first Mondays of each month at 10:00 AM. Come and learn about the work of missionaries and see how you can get involved and be a part of missions in our church, community, and around the globe.

Called to Serve

Barbara and Elton Cooke are members at Bethel and serve in Arusha, Tanzania, through Called to Serve. Bethel supports their ministry through their prayers, giving, and sending teams. See more about their ministry at Called to Serve.

Each year Bethel hosts CARITAS (Churches Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter), and men, women, or families call Bethel their home for a week. Bethel is privileged to provide a safe, warm place for these folks to live for a week. Read more about CARITAS.

Children in Action

Children at Bethel join on the 5th Sundays at 9:30 AM in the Discovers Sunday School classroom to learn about how God is working around the world through missionaries and how He uses each of them. The children conduct mission projects throughout the year.

Crossroads Camp

Each summer and throughout the year Crossroads Camp hosts students and groups at camp! Bethel has been active in year-round clean-up, camp counselors, camp attendees, and support throughout the years. Read more about Crossroads Camp.

Feeding the Homeless

Bethel youth work with First Baptist Church in Richmond, Va., to provide meals to the homeless on an ongoing basis.
