Todd Bradbury, Pastor

Pastor Todd preachingPastor Todd is a native of Powhatan, Virginia, and has lived there his entire life. He’s a graduate of Powhatan High School and Virginia Tech where he received a degree in finance. After college, he worked in the banking industry for over 20 years. In 1999 Todd received a call to ministry. He says, “This was truly an experience of grace. Going into the ministry was never on my radar. The Lord really blessed me with this calling and I’m eternally grateful.” Todd graduated from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond in 2006 with a Master of Divinity Degree. He’s worked part-time as a youth minister, associate pastor and was called to be a pastor of a church in Cumberland, Virginia, before being called to Bethel in 2013. Todd says, “Bethel is truly a special place with wonderful people, whom I love and care about. If there is one thing I’d want people to know about Bethel it’s this: We care! We love the Lord and we love each other and I believe we reflect that love in how we care for one another.” Todd is married to Karen and they have two children, Elizabeth and Gray. As for hobbies, Todd enjoys traveling, watching movies, reading, and he’s an avid cyclist.

Lauren Moore, Children’s and Youth Minister

Lauren was born and raised in Richmond, VA. Lauren graduated from Mt. St. Mary’s University in Emmittsburg, MD in 2007 with a degree in Rhetoric and Communication. She went on obtain a teaching license through VCU and taught students with autism in Chesterfield county public schools for seven years before staying at home to raise her family. Lauren and Jason have three young children; a son, Coen, and two daughters, Elliott and Everly. In the midst of being a stay at home mom to two small children and awaiting the arrival of Everly, the Lord called Lauren to join the staff at Bethel as the youth minister. Lauren finds it both an absolute blessing and privilege to walk along side kids in their relationship with Christ. Lauren loves a strong cup of coffee, a great song, college basketball, feeling the sun on her face and spending time with her family.

Linda Gardner, Administrative Assistant

Linda was born in Maryland on the Army base at Aberdeen Proving Ground. After the military, the family moved to a farm in Louisa County near a small town called Cuckoo. (It really is on the map.) Linda is one of seven children and grew up working on the farm and loving animals and the outdoors. In 1978, Linda took a position at an insurance company which she enjoyed, but in 1999 and after 21 years in the corporate world, Linda felt the Lord calling her to leave her job and the security of a full-time position and follow Him wherever He would lead and she has not looked back. Since 1999, she has been to several different countries and several different states doing mission work. Linda is married to Charles and has one son and two stepsons. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Gayle Taylor, Associate Pastor and Music Minister

Gayle is a native of Virginia and grew up in the West End of Richmond. She’s a graduate of Douglas Freeman High School and obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English literature from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked in the education industry for over 20 years and currently teaches at John Tyler Community College. Gayle took private lessons in piano and organ and has worked in music ministry for many years. She is an ordained minister and received a Master of Divinity degree from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond in May 2017. Gayle is married to Jeff Taylor and they have twins, Kyle and Meredith, who are both graduates of Virginia Commonwealth University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing with her Newfoundland, cooking, and playing the piano.

Cathy Marshall, Accompanist

Cathy is a life long native of Richmond, Virginia. While she was raised in the city, Cathy is a country girl at heart. She hopes to retire to a more rural or small town setting in the near future. Cathy is a graduate of The Braxton Business School. In 1986, Cathy was called to a combined career in church administration and church music. Her music ministry has involved both instrumental and vocal work with children’s music, adult choirs, special groups and many special programs; however, her main focus has always been that of an accompanist. Cathy has served as Administrative Assistant for Crestwood Presbyterian Church since July 1991 and has a passion for creating bulletins, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations and various other documents to enhance worship and ministry. Cathy states, “I stand in awe of the amazing things God has allowed me to do throughout my career thus far and am very excited about future ministry opportunities.” Cathy married her cowboy, Dennis, known to his family as “Tex,” in 1982 and through the years their home has included an assortment of “children” with fur and feathers. They have many shared interests including a love of horses and rodeo, Southern Gospel and cowboy music, Civil War events, history and art, family history and spending time in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, of which Dennis is a native. In addition, Cathy enjoys raising African violets, reading, knitting, crafting and watching Hallmark and faith-based movies.
