OUR TEAM

At Bethel, we’re more than a church — we’re a family. For over a century, we’ve been rooted in faith, grounded in God’s Word, and committed to sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ with our community and beyond.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or looking for a church home, we want you to feel welcomed, known, and loved. We believe God has uniquely gifted each of us to serve, lead, and encourage one another — and we’re excited to introduce you to the team who shepherds and supports our church family.

CATHY MARSHALL

Accompanist

Music has been an integral part of Cathy Marshall’s life since she first sang in the children’s choir at her home church in Chesterfield County. She began playing piano at the age of nine and joined the adult choir at just thirteen. Cathy believes that everyone is called to use their God-given gifts to glorify Him, serve others, and be a witness through their talents.

Cathy began her music ministry journey in 1981 with her first paid position and was called to dual service in church administration and music in 1985. She has faithfully served as Bethel’s Accompanist since October 1997 and currently works as the Office Manager and Financial Secretary at Branch’s Baptist Church in South Richmond.

Her passion for music is matched only by her lifelong love of animals—fostered through 4-H programs that included music, drama, and veterinary science projects. Cathy met her husband, Dennis, through their shared love of horses and rodeo, and they married in 1982. Today, Dennis is a beekeeper, and together they care for five very spoiled cats. In her spare time, Cathy enjoys Southern Gospel music, knitting, crafting with her mother, and spending time with family.
